A Sweet Memory of Two Schnauzers
A Custom Pet Portrait For A Special Family
These two seet schnauzers were the special custom painting for my friend, Vickie & Tim - the gray schnauzer is “Polly” - she was the first dog portrait I’ve painted, and just the pictures of her were the cutest, most adorable thing ever.
Picture a dog, laying in a doll bathtub, with her paw across her face, as if to say “ I am simply exhausted from being so frickin’ cute!”.
She has left for the big playground in the sky, and has her best friend Bonnie there with her, too.
so this is a memory piece of two special dogs, for some really special people.
Should This Boxer Be Concerned?
This is what REALLY Goes on in you Boxer’s Head
Have you ever wondered why your dog twitches while sleeping?
Apparently, he sees things that you and I don’t - mainly weird things, that would not make any kind of sense at all.
This cute boxer got some help from me, in visualizing it for you - yeah. i know. Weird, right?
But, sooo stinkin’ cute!
It is, as it were, a “FIDDLER ON THE WOOF” in this cute custom dog portrait.
I love his eyes - not sure if he is worried, or just saying “Oh phooey, not THAT again”.
So ther you have it, plain and simple: the reason your dog at times seems to have gone batsh!t crazy…
A Family Pack Of Cuteness!
A Little Family Pack Of Fun Pet Portrait
Taking time off for the holidays is sometimes overrated - but not this year!
It was a hustle and bustle of people coming and going, eating, playing games, and celebrating in general - nonetheless, wotk also had to be done, and this is one of the large projects I worked on right before all the holidayness began.
It’s a whole gaggle of critters, a pack of cuteness overload, if you ask me.
Painted in ProCreate with Apple Pencil, using the photos supplied to me as a reference.
This one took quite a long time, because, well, lots of sweetness needed to be incorporated.
Enjoy!

It’s that jolly time of the year again - when the sound of tape rollers zipping, paper rustling, bubblewrap crunching, and boxes shuffling throught the studio fills the air.
Christmas always brings out the “craycray” around here - my usual very busy life takes on a whole new life form of its own when I am done with art shows for the year, with a full new set of hyperventilating techniques, speedwalking through the house, while lurching over piles of paintings, packages, and packing materials utilizing new hurdling skills, and an occasioal squawking cat that inadvertedly got tripped over on the way from here to there thrown in for good measure.
Nothing says “Christmas Time” better than the mayhem in my studio this time of year - it truly is a miracle of Nature that my head doesn’t just pop off into the big blue yonder, with all the little bits and pieces of everything that needs to be kept track of during the busiest shopping season of the year.
Call me a “Glutton for Punishment”, but this year I decided to keep with tradition, and add my annual studio sale for my sheep artwork to the fray. Yup - crazy has a firm grip on me.
It has been a whirlwind of everything, and truth be told, I am not even sure what day it is now, or if I had lunch lately. But, we are almost caught up - the last orders of #SheepFling are leaving on Tuesday, and after that, I will get back to work on ALL the pet portriats that have been so patiently waiting for me.
So, if your name is on my list for a pet portrait, please know this: you are NOT FORGOTTEN, and you WILL get your paintings soon. I can guarantee that you will like the outcome MUCH more, with me having just the pet portraits to work on, rather than doing ALL the “craycray” at the same time.
So, next week, the flurry of sheep will end for a bit, and there SHALL bee some fur being painted, some paws being fluffified, and some floppy puppy ears sketched out.
I can hardly wait - it’s a bit like hearing the jingle bells of a sleigh approaching around Christmas time... quite magical!
Thank you for understanding the dilemna of “too many artist pots on the fire” here - really, can’t wait to be getting your furry friends ready for you!
In the meantime, here is the latest addition to the pet gallery:

Some New Dogs Are Getting "Cutified"!
We had a blast last weekend at the Montpelier Sheepdog Trials and Fall Fiber Festival, with a LOT of adorable border collies running after the sheep - some did better than others, but all of them seemed to be happy to be doing what they do best.
We had a chance to visit with quite a few people there, that were quite smitten with this little guy:
We had him hanging right by the entrance to smile at people coming into the Sheep Incognito booth - it brought out “ooohs” and “aaahs”, alongside a lot of smiling faces (Pro Tip for artists: ALWAYS hang your best, friendliest, biggest eye-catcher up front, so people will be drawn into your booth).
So now there are a few new dogs heading to my easel for the “cutification process” (aka: their custom pet painting I will be creating)…stay tuned for in progress pictures, and possibly a video or two…
For those of you that have never been to a festival of that nature, here are a few pictures:
A New Little Guy for the Montpelier VA Sheepdog Trials 2018!
New Hound On The Mound!
this week we are heading to the Montpelier VA Fall Fiber Festival - and we will have this little cutie in tow…I finished him last week (or was it two weeks ago?)…either way, he will be making his debut at the Sheepdog Trials in Montpelier Station, Virginia this weekend. And I can’t wait to see the reactions to him.
Of course, because no two critters are exactly alike - I will be taking orders for custom dog portraits there, as well.
Feedback and comments are of course always welcome - come visit me online at my Facebook page, too!

Meet "Sarge" - Who Is Not As Tiny As He Looks
Adding Cuteness To Pet Portrait Paintings
“Sarge” is a custom pet painting I created for a family member last Christmas. They had just added this little wrinkly, pudgy bulldog to their clan, so this has become a reminder that what is now a BIG wrinkly bulldog, used to be tiny.
To ensure that this is a very personal piece for their collection, I added details to the painting, like the paw print of their son’s high school team; a bottle of their family Old Fashioned Mix (which, btw. you should try - yummy stuff!); and the little puppy hanging in there.
So as you can see, any personal additions can be made to your pet portrait as well - it makes it a one-of-a-kind original relevant to your own life story.
"Fiddler On The Woofs" - A Mash-Up of Sheep Incognito and Pets
A Newe Friendship Is Born!
Using ProCreate app on iPad Pro, and Apple Pencil, I’ve paired these two cuties with one of my Sheep Incognito flockies, for a cute, custom digital pet portrait of “Jerry and Jackson”, who belong to my friend Margaret.
Need a sheep dancing on your dog’s head? No problem - just head to my shop and order one of my cute pet portraits in one of the various sizes, and I can get started on it!
To ensure that I capture you dog’s personality correctly, you will also need to supply me with a little bit about him/her…and, of course, pictures. Lots of them. Good ones, close-ups, sitting, laying, standing, sleeping, bouncing - whatever you have in terms of photos of your dog, those will help me paint it as close to real life as possible. Once you have placed your order, I will send you a link to Dropbox, where you can upload images for me to use.

She is adorable!

Welcome to my new website!
It is SO nice to have you stop by here!
Many of you know my work from the funny "Sheep Incognito" series of paintings I have been creating since 2000 - and those are still traveling with me to fine art shows, irish festivals, fiber events, and city festivals around the Nation.
But every flock needs a dog or two to keep them in check - it seems that this flock of new pet paintings I started in 2016 has decided to grow by leaps and bounds, so that it is best to have the sheep separate from the dogs, cats, iguanas, alpacas, frogs, and mice that I have been commissioned to paint for their owners.
They seem so much happier here.
As always, my favorite part of being an artist is getting to meet people, and to make them smile. And creating these personal pet portraits has opened a whole new avenue of great people to meet - I've met cute dogs, silly dogs, smelly dogs, furry dogs, nekkid dogs, short dogs, long dogs, big dogs, pretty dogs, as well as parrots, cats, fish, bunnies, alpacas, dragons, and all kinds of other critters. Fact is: if your pet makes you smile, having me create a custom pet portrait of him/her/it will make your wall into a bright, cheerful spot in your home.
So, welcome aboard - and please be patient with me, as I get this site up and running. Paint, canvas, and brushes do not confuse me at all - this here, this technology stuff? Yeah, it's a doozy to me...
As always, I love hearing from you - so comment all you like, unless you are a spammer. In that case, go stand where I can throw a rotten tomato at you....
